Moray House School of Education and Sport is inviting applications for Lecturer in Teacher Education (Primary) to support the delivery across undergraduate and postgraduate Initial Teacher Education Primary programmes.
The Opportunity:
The post holder will make a key contribution to the leadership, development, and design of teaching, assessment across the Primary Education curriculum. The post holder will have established expertise from one or more of the following curricular areas:
Early Years 
Religious and Moral Education
Health and wellbeing 
Outdoor Learning/sustainable development education
Mentoring/supporting students
Technologies 
STEAM
We welcome applicants who can bring a critical and creative understanding of the curriculum and the role of the teacher in primary schools. The appointee will join the Institute of Education, Teaching and Leadership which offers three primary education programmes: PGDE Primary, MSc Transformative Learning and Teaching and MA Primary Education with Gaelic.   
The postholder’s contribution will include planning and developing the primary education provision with a focus on one or more curricular areas and will contribute to all three primary education programmes. There are opportunities to supervise undergraduate honours and masters dissertations and/or PhD students. The postholder would contribute to the development of our primary programmes and relationships with local authority partners. 
It would be considered an advantage if candidates have expertise across multiple curricular areas and/or experience of teaching in initial teacher education or post qualifying continuing professional opportunities to colleagues in relation to primary education, such as student and/or probation support.
This post is advertised at Grade 8 of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. scale, with the flexibility to appoint the successful candidate on a Teaching and Research track or Teaching and Scholarship track to match particular skills and expertise.   
Your skills and attributes for success: 
Being registered as Primary teacher with the General Teaching Council of Scotland, or eligible to register.  Established credibility and experience in at least one of the curricular areas noted within the job description purpose, making a demonstrable impact at school, local authority or national level, or within Teacher Education. 
Demonstrate a critical, informed, creative and scholarly capacity to engage with students using a range of teaching mediums, including virtual learning environments and online platforms.
