Description:
King University is accepting applications for an part-time faculty position in Choral Studies for Fall 2023-Spring 2024 academic year. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting the King Chorale and teaching courses in the choral music education program. Additional courses in music theory and/or aural skills may also be available.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Master’s degree is required in either choral conducting or music education. Candidates should have relevant experience conducting and administering choral programs at the high school level, including current trends and strategies in choral music.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Doctorate in choral conducting or choral music education is preferred. Collegiate teaching experience, or several years of public school teaching experience, is preferred.
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility is to conduct and administer all aspects of the King Chorale, including programming for a Christmas and spring concert performance. The Choral Music Education courses offered will include Elementary Methods, Vocal Diction, and Choral Conducting and will depend on a candidate’s strengths.
