) encourages applications for a post-doctoral research associate!
This position will be responsible for carrying out studies to increase treatment effectiveness of wildlife habitat restoration projects on Colorado BLM lands by evaluating the effectiveness of past land treatments and using that information in planning and implementing future treatments.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Conduct studies to assess past land treatment effectiveness to improve wildlife habitat using a landscape scale approach, plan land treatments that promote landscape resiliency in the face of future disturbance and changing climate in partnership with BLM Colorado, and restore wildlife habitat using a combination of the best candidate and novel land treatment approaches.
Share knowledge of treatment effectiveness with a broader group of partners to improve the planning process of wildlife habitat restoration.
The work will include using publicly available data and field data to meet the project goals with deliverables in peer-reviewed publications.
Outreach to the broader community and specifically teaching in a newly launched summer program for tribal students across the Four Corners region.
Organize, plan, and design field experiments related to the core objectives of the funded project.
Supervise undergraduate research assistants on the project to achieve project objectives.
Compile and analyze publicly available data to assess land treatment effectiveness.
Install ecological restoration experiments in degraded wildlife habitat using a suite of best candidate approaches.
Develop educational materials and contribute to an educational program targeted toward Indigenous students.
Analyze and write up the results from all studies and experiments for peer-reviewed journals.
