The Kirwan Institute of the Study of Race and Ethnicity and Translational Data Analytics Institute at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. (OSU) invite applications for a postdoctoral scholar position. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, 12-month (1.0 FTE) position that begins in August 2022 with a possible renewal for a second year based on satisfactory performance.
This position is designed to be a career-building step for early-career scholars. We are eager to engage with candidates whose scholarship is at the quantitative intersection of the study of race and ethnicity, data science and analytics in the generation of solutions regarding inequities and disparities.
The candidate will split their time between Kirwan Institute and TDAI. The successful candidate would be expected to collaborate with faculty members, researchers, and students on research projects, initiate new funded projects, and disseminate research results via conferences, policy documents, and academic publications. The postdoctoral scholar will fully participate in the academic life of both institutes, will have opportunities to gain teaching experience, and participate in professional development programs by the OSU Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.
Successful candidates will likely have or be nearing completion of doctorates in such disciplines as computer science, law, political science, sociology, psychology, public policy, criminal justice, sociology, psychology, social work, or a related field. Highly desirable candidates will have a strong potential for a research career and demonstrated commitment toward improving diversity, equity, and inclusion in the academy.

Duties/Responsibilities
80% The fellow will devote 80% (40% in each area) of their time to pursuing their own research on dimensions on data science relating to the mission of both TDAI and Kirwan.
20% The fellow will devote 20% (10% in each area) of their time in a service-related capacity, with OSU faculty and students. In doing so, they will be able to shape the direction of data science education at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.. The types of service available will be vary by institute.
Proposed salary range: $53,000-$60,000
