Working with us in the Academy of Sport and Physical Activity you can help transform the lives of our undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as enhance our extensive research and knowledge transfer profile. We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in the area of Sport Business Management.
The Sport Business Management role sits in a collegial and supportive subject group, Sport Management and Development, but will require input across a range degree courses. You will engage students through collaboration in an enterprising and innovative curriculum which will help prepare them for their long-term career progression. You’ll have the key skills and knowledge of working with diverse groups of learners in the areas of business management applied to sport.
You will also contribute to other areas including supervision of student projects and work-based placements. You will also contribute to research and innovation aligned with the Sport Industry Research Group and undertake other forms of scholarly activity as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team. As a Senior Lecturer you will take on course leadership or other leadership roles.
You must have a doctorate in a relevant discipline (or within 12 months of completion) and experience of teaching learners from diverse backgrounds in a relevant educational context. The ability to design and deliver innovative and inclusive learning experiences and well developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical and theoretical issues relevant to business management applied to sport is essential.
For this job we particularly welcome applications from minority ethnic applicants who are underrepresented in this area at Sheffield Hallam.
The University may be able to sponsor the employment of international applicants in this role; this will depend on a number of factors specific to the individual applicant.
We welcome applications for job-share, part-time and flexible working arrangements.
