Profile

Howard Community College has a opening for Teachers in the Children's Learning Center. The successful candidates will:
Effectively develop and carry out daily, weekly, and monthly lesson plans that reflect the children's needs and interests as determined by individual observations and developmental checklists completed for each child.
Work to establish a genuine partnership with all parents, in which the teacher may offer information or advice based on professional knowledge or experience, but refrains from judging parent's behavior.
Create a warm and welcoming classroom atmosphere which shows respect for family values different from the teacher's own.
Collaborate with teachers at the center to create a program beneficial to families.
Requirements:
90 Hour Certificate in Early Childhood Education required; BS in Early Childhood Education preferred.
Minimum of one year's experience in an early childhood program.
Knowledge and implementation of laws and regulations governing child care centers and the child care field.
