The College of Engineering and Applied Science, Department of Engineering Education is accepting applications to hire a Postdoctoral Fellow who is a self-motivated individual, ready to engage in Engineering Education research. The overall mission of the research endeavor is to advance the understanding of, and create new knowledge applicable to, the following areas within engineering education: Epistemologies, Learning Mechanisms, Learning Systems and Diversity and Inclusiveness, and Assessment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
*Assist with grant management; proposal preparation, data collection and analysis; manuscript preparation. *If warranted, may be asked to attend professional conferences and meetings.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
*Ph.D. or Ed.D. required in Engineering Education, Educational Research, or closely related field. *Requires an in-depth knowledge of a specialized field, process, or discipline. *Good oral and written communication skills. *Ability to work and collaborate effectively with students, faculty and staff from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
*Undergraduate/Graduate degree in a specific Engineering or Science discipline. *Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methodologies. *Knowledge of rating scale analysis (using item response theory), traditional psychometric analysis, requiring a proficiency in SPSS, SAS, LISREL, TestFact, R, Python, Tableau or similar data analysis software. *Knowledge of (or be willing to learn) SQL (language to query data bases), PHP, HTML, and Python (scripting language) to retrieve data from various data sources.
