invites applications for an
Assistant Director of Compliance
to join their team. The Program Manager will develop and implement a variety of monitoring systems including live monitoring of countably athletically-related activities and coaching/noncoaching activities, social media activities of coaches and student-athletes with regard to applicable NCAA rules, recruiting paperwork submitted by coaches compared to travel expense reports; conduct analyses and prepare detailed reports to guide decisions of the Compliance Office; assist the Director of Compliance in processes, procedures and systems necessary to ensure the department’s compliance with NCAA and conference rules and regulations for 15 NCAA Division I men’s and women’s intercollegiate sports; prepare scholarship documents in consultation with the Director of Compliance; file necessary documents and reports with UM, other institutions, the Big Sky Conference Office, the NCAA and the NCAA Eligibility Center; operate NCAA software to input recruiting information, financial aid information, and playing and practice seasons; monitor paperwork involved with official and unofficial campus recruiting visits to ensure compliance with NCAA legislation; serve as the point person for training and preparation of forms in the ARMS software program; other duties as assigned.
The person in this position will be responsible for developing, implementing and supervising a robust compliance internship program. In this role, the person in this position will be independently responsible for all aspects of the program, including selecting and supervising interns, preferably graduate interns.
The complexity of these tasks is very high as the NCAA rules are extensive and a high level of competency and attention to detail is needed. Further, violations of NCAA rules negatively impact the image of the entire University so the accuracy needed in this position is extremely high.
Athletic Department employees and those University employees outside the Athletic Department with NCAA rules compliance responsibilities are subject at all times to NCAA Bylaws 10.1 and 11.1 regarding ethical conduct and the responsibility to positively contribute to a campus culture of NCAA rules compliance. Failure to conduct oneself as such will result in disciplinary or corrective action up to and including immediate discharge.
