The
Office of Alumni Relations
invites applications for an
Alumni Engagement Coordinator
. The individual in this role should be enthusiastic and engaging in working to build a strong community and network between students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends by creating meaningful connections through programming, career support, affinity-related engagement and UM experiences.
Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Alumni Relations, the person assigned to this position will help define and create a path for UM graduates to seamlessly transition from the student to alumni community. The employee in this role will help foster and grow alumni engagement with the University and each other through alumni chapter development, affinity groups, utilization of campus resources, events and programming to support their ongoing professional growth.
Flexible scheduling and hybrid work will be considered, especially as some night and weekend work will be required for events and engagement opportunities.
Alumni Chapters and Affinity Programs:
• Create and manage alumni chapters and affinity programs
• Recruit, train and steward alumni to serve as volunteers and leaders within regional chapters and affinity groups
• Coordinate and execute local and national events (opportunity for business travel is possible especially as it pertains to alumni chapters)
• Help alumni affinity groups devise roles and systems that foster active and sustainable engagement with UM and each other
• Collaborate with Digital Communications Manager to develop regular communications to increase engagement through social media and in-person experiences within regional chapters and at the University
• Work with advancement and campus colleagues to support strategic activities that highlight outstanding alumni and academic programs
• Develop and support the tracking and integrity of data pertaining to chapters and affinity group engagement
Alumni Career Support:
• Help manage and increase engagement with the Griz Career Network
• Create programs and resources that support the professional development goals and interests of alumni
• Support ongoing collaboration on student-alumni career initiatives, including but not limited to mentoring programs, student-alumni engagement data tracking/reporting and other events/programs with campus partners
Campus Alumni Engagement
• Help develop and manage partnerships with UM Colleges, departments and student organizations to support their engagement with alumni, including but not limited to special events, reunions, continuing education opportunities, alumni data collection and integrity, communications and storytelling
• Organize and plan campus experiences that heighten alumni engagement and celebrate the rich traditions of UM, including homecoming, recognition events, commencement, reunions and more
Additional Support

• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Required Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Demonstrated experience in program, event or community management, or related professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with a CRM
• Experience with iModules or similar email platform

Position Details
Position Title: Alumni Engagement Coordinator (Program Manager)
Position Number: New
Department: Alumni Relations
Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), this position can have a variable work schedule, 12 months/year.
Salary: $18.35/hr Current employee’s rate of pay for this position will be determined by the staff compensation plan and will minimally be this posted salary. For questions and details regarding the staff compensation plan, email the Compensation Department.
Union Affiliation: Montana Federation of Public Employees (MFPE)
Probationary Period: Six months minimum
