JOB SUMMARY
The Department of Student Activities at the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. announces the opening of a full-time Program Assistant (Student Services Program Assistant 2). Reporting to the designated supervisor this position will assist/support staff and students in the delivery of programs and services in the designated areas (currently Community Outreach and Leadership and Organizational Development) and exercise some supervision of students.

The Department of Student Activities offers a diverse portfolio of educational, social, and recreational programs for the entire campus. The related programs and services reach from the classroom and residence halls to the sidelines and beyond and engage students with unique programs and initiatives defined by their quality, creativity, and effectiveness. Student Activities staff are a progressive team of individuals, dedicated to the profession, prideful of our University, and committed to excellence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides administrative support for programs and program staff in one or more areas within the Department, to include arranging room reservations, catering, and travel; interacting with outside vendors, speakers, processing financial paperwork, and more; serves as the initial point of contact and resource for programmatic inquiries; maintains paper and electronic filing systems to support programs, including fiscal, personnel and student records; assists with various recruitment, application, and interview processes; assists in general budget support including but not limited to the preparation and submission of purchase requests and reimbursements; hires, trains, supervises, and supports student workers; provides on-site supervision of events/programs; responsible for providing, supporting and participating in programs, services, and initiatives focusing on anti-racism, social justice and the fostering of a campus community that is more diverse, equitable, and inclusive to all; identifies, recommends, and implements improvements; assists in the collection and analysis of program evaluation/assessment data; serves on University/Department committees and attends Department staff meetings as required; assists and/or be responsible for assigned special projects; performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree AND 2 years of experience providing administrative and programmatic support OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Demonstrated ability to communicate information effectively.
Excellent organizational skills.
Articulated commitment to, demonstrated understanding of, and/or experience working with diverse populations.
Willingness and ability to work nights and weekends.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience hiring, training, supervising student employees.
Experience and/or attention to detail.
Strong customer service skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated experience integrating principles of diversity and inclusion into all aspects of program management.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment on multiple tasks.
APPOINTMENT TERMS
This is a full-time, permanent position. The University offers a competitive salary, and outstanding benefits, including employee and dependent tuition waivers at UConn, and a highly desirable work environment. Anticipated salary: $46,515 - $48,000.
