Summary:Under general direction, the
Scheduler-Surgery Coordinator is responsible for scheduling all inpatient and
outpatient surgery and medical procedures, tests and studies ordered by the
physician.  Provides support, and communicates necessary information
to patients and physicians regarding surgery scheduling.

Essential
Functions:

Performs clerical duties on the unit under the direction of
the nurse manager/clinical coordinator or designated person.  Participates in the delivery of care to
adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients while in the surgical services
department.  Utilizes proper
communication channels between inter- and intra-departmental personnel in
relationship to patient/physician orders. 
Presents a personable attitude to physicians, patients, visitors,
families, and co-workers.  Supports the
philosophy and objectives of the hospital.

 

 

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

 

Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.

Knowledge of medical computerized scheduling systems and
surgery scheduling procedures preferred.
