SUMMARY
:

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, will conduct specialized research in the fields of stress biology and behavioral neuroscience. Will assist in the management/coordination of a small laboratory. No classroom teaching is involved in this position, this is a laboratory research position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Will perform
in vivo
and
in vitro
experiments to identify neuroadaptations contributing to anxiety-like behavior in rodent models of stress
Will independently conduct scientific research projects with oversight from the PI
Will conduct behavioral and electrophysiological experiments and stereotaxic surgeries
Will assist with the training of students, fellows, technicians and laboratory assistants as required
Will assist with ordering and organizing equipment and supplies
Will collect, organize, and analyze data

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in neuroscience, biology or related discipline. Prior research experience preferred. Must be comfortable working with laboratory rats.
