sterile products to any user cost center in the appropriate quantities and
locations and ensure acceptable and predetermined quality standards. Supervise
and coordinate work flow in the instrument room, decontam, assembly,
sterilization of surgical instruments used throughout Preoperative Services,

Qualifications
Minimum
Education: Some College
Minimum years in field
previous to employment: *One (1) year of experience in
discipline with degree OR*Three (3) years of experience in
discipline OR
*Master’s degree and no
experience
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*Extensive instrument knowledge and
product/inventory management*Excellent communication and
problem solving skills*Reconciliation of system and
physical inventory
Position
Responsibilities 1. Supervise inventory planning and
control Functions for an official hospital inventory located in Central Sterile
Processing 2. Promotes the principle of
sterility & packaging integrity by ensuring all surgical instruments are
handled in a manner consistent with principals supporting infection control
& are in accordance with institutional and departmental
policies 3. Communicates with other
supervisor to ensure continuity of information 4. Provides a safe working
environment for fellow employees. 5. Trouble shoots equipment
malfunctions 6. Coordinate the general ledger
interface 7. Oversee vendor return
transactions, and associated credits and/or postings to spoilage/shrinkage
accounts 8. Assure correct product or
clinically accepted equivalent is available in the proper quantity, quality, and
location to meet scheduled and emergency surgical case requirements 9. Supervise product acquisition
process; reorder, receive storage and distribution 10. Select, develop, supervise and
evaluate departmental staff, ensuring adequate daily staffing 11. Analyze and coordinate daily
surgery schedule and corresponding preference lists 12. Supervise and coordinate work
flow in material distribution and instruments processing areas. 13. Maintain high standards for
customer satisfaction 14. Provides data needed for
planning, decision-making, improving productivity, resolving problems and
abiding by regulations.
