SUMMARY
:
The Lab is seeking a Research Technician responsible for providing research support and technical assistance to the lab. This role is to participate in planned research projects by performing research protocols and experimental procedures independently. The position will also provide the opportunity to work on your own project and contribute to papers. The lab studies tongue and taste alterations due to a variety of insults including drug treatments. We use microscopy, histology, immunohistochemistry, genetic tools and flow cytometry in mouse models to understand the exciting gustatory organ. This is a grant-funded position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Performs research procedures on experimental samples as directed.
Assists with planning specific research protocols and procedures.
Order and organize lab supplies.
Assists in the care and maintenance of laboratory facilities, equipment and instruments.
Maintains accurate records of experimentation and research.
Reviews selected literature relevant to research activities.
Prepares reports, documents and databases.
Helps maintain records, files, and databases.
Understands and adheres to Rowan SOM compliance standards as they appear in Rowan's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
Performs other related duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in life sciences. Research in lab experience is preferred, although the candidate will be trained in necessary techniques including animal handling, genotyping and microscopy. Independence is expected as is the ability to follow lab protocols and PI instructions where appropriate. Must be comfortable working with experimental animals.
SALARY:
Minimum is $18.78/hr
