Salary Details:

Job Summary/Basic Function
As a part of the Office of International Programs and Services, the Associate Director for International Admissions will lead the International Admissions unit. The position will manage all aspects of our international recruitment strategies, including overall coordination of recruitment travel. They will counsel prospective international students on applying to and enrolling at Millersville University— ensuring admissions procedures comply with immigration laws and regulations. The position reports to the Director of International Programs and Services.
Job Description
40% International Recruitment and Admissions Management
* Provides day-to-day operational management of the international recruitment and admissions unit of the Office of International Programs and Services.
* Oversee the development of enrollment strategies and practices to identify, attract, recruit, and enroll international students.
* Lead implementation of overall international recruitment strategy for international degree and non-degree-seeking international students, including English Language Institute students, dual-degree, short-term programs, online, foreign government-sponsored, and exchange students, including specific key strategies for all markets.
* Provide research-based information to target international student markets for recruitment travel.
* Assist with the overall planning of yearly recruitment travel. Extensive travel overseas multiple times per year to promote Millersville University at recruitment and outreach activities.
* Act as team lead for international admissions staff to meet enrollment goals.
* Collaborate with academic units to establish admissions goals and targets and to keep abreast of changes in programs to enhance recruitment initiatives.
* Counsel students and families through the admissions process. Evaluates the qualifications of prospective students and makes admissions recommendations, including providing unofficial transcript evaluation.
* Review international student applications for admission, conduct interviews of prospective students, present information sessions to prospective students and families.
25% Admissions Systems Management
* Identifies operational issues and/or areas of improvement and implements solutions to improve processes and/or operational efficiency.
* Acts as primary administrator for International Admissions systems, including Slate, Banner, and Axiom.
* Oversee student data in Slate and ensure the highest levels of accuracy and consistency. Provide integration support for data needs with outside vendors.
* Prepares monthly reports on the status of the current admission cycle, as well as forecasting for upcoming cycles.
* Researches and stays up to date on new industry admissions and recruitment standards, best practices, and emerging technology; keep informed of trends as well as significant problems.
* Assists with the development and monitoring of the international admission office budget.
25% Communication, Marketing and Outreach
* Develop, coordinate, & execute special in-person and virtual recruitment or yield events with prospective international students and other relevant external constituents, including parents, partners, and alumni.
* Collaborate with UCM and academic programs on the development and editing of written and other digital media outputs that convey the value of the Ville experience.
* Create, revise, and manage communication plans and calendar for students, parents, agents, and external constituencies using Slate.
* Coordinate, facilitate, and promote international admissions on all International Programs and Services' social media platforms to ensure a strong social media presence.
* Facilitate and manage all agent agreements and partnerships, as well as oversee the vetting, training, and evaluation of agents and their recruitment activity.
10% Administration
* Assist in the day-to-day management of office operations including recruitment, hiring, orientation, training and supervision of student employees, interns, and graduate assistants, as needed.
* Serve as an authorized U.S. Department of Homeland Security Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO).
* Responsible for tracking and analyzing key performance metrics related to responsible area of work.
* Assist with seeking and writing grant, foundation, and donor proposals.
* Assist with the development and implementation of Office of International Programs and Services special events, including Homecoming, International Education Week, and others.
* Assist with budgeting, goal setting, office planning, and special projects.
* Represent Office of International Programs and Services at campus, community, and national meetings as requested.
* Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Master’s degree.
3 years of professional work experience in international admissions, or related higher education experience.
2 years’ experience working with complex
CRM
databases.
Excellent interpersonal communication, written communication, and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Experience in helping to plan and administer programs and events.
Ability to work independently and contribute and collaborate effectively as a member of a team.
Ability to handle communications, information, and data with sensitivity and confidentiality.
Ability to travel multiple times per year internationally for recruitment related activities.
Ability to work/travel evenings and weekends as needed.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
