The teacher is responsible for the children's social, physical, emotional and mental development in the program. Under the supervision and direction of the director, the teacher is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of all classroom activity. The teacher will effectively develop and carry out daily, weekly and monthly lesson plans that accommodate children's needs and that reflect individual observations and developmental checklists completed for each child. The teacher must comply with and adhere to MSDE licensing regulations and MSDE accreditation standards at all times. The teachers will collaborate with the Assistant Director and college faculty to facilitate experiences of college students in a lab school environment.
Requirements:
Six semester hours or 90 clock hours of early childhood development required, a degree in early childhood development preferred.
A minimum of two years teaching experience in an infant toddler or two year old classroom.
Knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practice as it applies to an Infant Toddler/Two Year Old Classroom.
Knowledge of MSDE or NAEYC Accreditation requirements.
Knowledge of MSDE Licensing Regulations.
