General Description of Position:
Responsible for interpretation and implementation of policies and/or programs related to Human Resources which could include talent acquisition, employment, employee benefits, employee relations, affirmative action, college policies and procedures, compensation, performance review management, training, and talent development, and HRIS. Primary responsibility for collecting, maintaining, and entering employee job assignments in Banner and all new hire documents. Assists and provides support to the Director and Executive Director of Human Resources.
Major Responsibilities:
Managing the college’s applicant tracking system; job postings and advertisements for local/national and professional publications; approving advertising expenses for payment; coordinating and staffing job fairs; advising hiring supervisors, search committees and service area administrators regarding hiring procedures and the applicant tracking; coordinating review of credentials; coordinating phone and campus interviews; conducting reference checks; and calculating hire-in salaries.
· Enter all new-hire data into HRIS including but not limited to general person, biographical, employment record, IPEDS, faculty rank, education, required benefits, and web services, enter related changes as needed.
· Enter employee assignments and contracts into the HRIS system. Responsible for processing all payroll records including tax information, direct deposit information, and employee pay adjustments to Systems Office Payroll Center.
· Utilize the college's HireRight online system to process criminal conviction and employment verification background checks. Utilize Indiana and National sexual offender registries to check for new hires.
· Enter new hire information into E-Verify. Completes verification of employment and payroll documents for outside agencies when it cannot be verified via the Work Number.
· Maintain faculty credentialing records on file. Prepares correspondence (Employment Authorization Update forms, offer letters, informational letters, etc.)
· Maintain all employee files and file personnel-related documents including employment documents, performance appraisals, contracts, correspondence, professional development, etc. Maintain other employee records as necessary. Verify completion of computer-based training requirements for new hires.
· Processes terminated/retired employees’ paperwork. Responds to Unemployment Claims.
· Conducts exit interviews as necessary
· Assist with the annual Employee Service Awards Program honoring employees celebrating service anniversaries and retirement.
· Manage the campus Professional Development Process.
· Assist with talent acquisition activities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Business, Management, or related field required. Minimum two years related work experience required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
