The Lower School Director of Academic Support will articulate and execute a vision for supporting student learning, teacher professional development, and parent programming in the Lower School with particular attention to neurodiverse learners, learning design, and intervention strategies for success. The Lower School Director of Academic Support will be charged with reviewing the Lower School's current model of academic support to identify and implement systems, processes, and programmatic shifts that will provide for a more effective model of student support, better communication amongst stakeholders, and increased student success. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience in lower school environments. The ideal candidate will also possess a growth mindset, flexibility, creative problem-solving skills, and a sense of humor. All members of the faculty instill our school's mission by helping their students to become responsible, honest, compassionate, respectful citizens. The successful candidate will be required to exercise professional judgment and responsibility in keeping with the expectations of the School's faculty. The School will accept candidates with the following qualifications: Master's degree in special education Experience as a learning specialist in a Lower School setting Strong organizational skills and an understanding of system design and development Expertise and understanding of neurodiversity and learning differences including attention deficit, memory, language, social skill, executive function, and giftedness Orton-Gillingham training and knowledge (preferably OG Tier Three Certification/Fellow Level) Experience implementing data systems, leading data discussion, and using data to inform instruction Demonstrated leadership experience managing others Extensive experience at the Lower School level Experience interpreting and implementing recommendations from formal psycho-educational reports Experience working with and providing appropriate instructional support for students with learning differences Strong communication (oral and written) skills Ability to manage time and effectively meet deadlines Ability to develop positive and collaborative relationships with students, parents, and colleagues Strong references who confirm the applicant's ability to and expertise ABOUT **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.
