The Role
Ravensbourne is looking to recruit a creative & innovative lecturer to join the BA Hons Fashion Promotion teaching team. This award-winning course offers students a transdisciplinary approach to media production and enabling students to gain a broad range of skills including imaging, publication production, marketing, digital awareness and content creation including fashion film. The course and its delivery reflects the diversity of the contemporary and evolving fashion industry and encourages practice and experimentation with emerging technologies. There will be an emphasis on collaboration, with our existing courses, as well as with our industry partners.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will support the Course Leader in shaping, developing and planning the course. The ability to design inventive teaching and learning strategies that bring these career roles to life will be essential. The candidate will possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to engage students directly with their chosen industry will be essential.
You will have an upper class degree or post-graduate qualification in a relevant subject, be able to demonstrate recent professional knowledge and hold at least 1 years of teaching experience at HE level in promotion and communication including new media production, we also welcome industry candidates who show a strong desire for teaching. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to engage students directly with their chosen industry will be of significant benefit, and the ability to deploy creative learning and teaching methods, and to innovate in curriculum design would be advantageous.
Applicants will be expected to have up to date skills in all aspects of fashion media production and visual communication across analogue and digital platforms, including proven business practice, pre/post production and media design and work-flow. The knowledge and interest to develop and deliver innovations to the curriculum, using a variety of teaching methods, is necessary. A high level of technical understanding and ability is essential.
