The MSW Field Director is responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of all aspects of the field education for the MSW Program. The MSW Field Director will provide leadership and be responsible for establishing, training, monitoring, and assessing all CSWE Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards in this signature pedagogy of social work education. The Field department is responsible for Field Education placement of all students; selection, training and evaluation of field instruction sites; and all other aspects of field education that pertain to the quality of student training, linkage with academic curriculum, and administration of field education activities. This position will also include teaching in the Social Work Program and providing service to the Program and larger Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Oversee the recruitment of appropriate sites to serve as placement opportunities for MSW students
• Teach in the Social Work Program at a base of a 5/5 load, with CSWE required load reduction to meet the minimum requirement of 50% release time
•Provide service to the Program, Department, College, and University, including advisement responsibilities
•Performs other related duties as assigned or needed.
Required Qualifications:
•Must have experience in direct practice, field instruction, and in field education in academic settings
• Knowledge of social work organizations in the Newark, NJ metropolitan area

•Excellent organizational skills, written communication skills, attention to detail
•Ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines with minimal supervision required
• Applicant must have a means of transportation that allows for extensive traveling to Field agencies
•Demonstrated tact, discretion, diplomacy, and professionalism
Licenses and Certificates:
•Master's degree in Social Work required and hold a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) license in New Jersey
