Job Description:
Full-time position to promote a culture of continuous quality improvement by strategically supporting and connecting pre-nursing, nursing, and other health science students with academic, social, and career supports through advising and referral to college and community resources. The successful candidate will provide expedient supplemental academic support to improve course completion, licensure pass rates, student satisfaction, and holistic student success. *Continuation of position contingent upon continued funding availability. Hours may vary outside of the standard work week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and assists with execution of a comprehensive orientation program to motivate and engage pre-nursing and current nursing students.
Engages students in early identification, intervention, and remediation using evidenced-based coaching strategies for improved academic and career readiness success.
Meets with all at risk students to conduct gap analysis for the purpose of creating a success plan, monitoring student progress, and documenting coaching activities and progress.
Continuously monitors at risk student performance and maintains regular communication with student mentees, referring faculty members, appropriate academic leaders.
Provides holistic, personalized, and proactive support by serving as main point of contact for assigned students and connecting them to key supports and resources in and outside of the college.
Provides appropriate referrals to the correct resource to address issues of concern beyond the scope of the coaching role.
Guides and advises individual participants toward program completion and successful licensure examination, including licensure examination preparation.
Develops and presents educational content through lessons, workshops or courses to students focused on academic success, lifestyle management, employability skills and holistic self-care.
Develops and presents information on the role of the Nursing Student Success Coach to students, faculty, and college/community stakeholders.
Provides assistance to students and instructors to problem solve issues that arise related to progress towards academic goals, perseverance, and attendance.
Ensures the confidentiality of educational records in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
Acts as a Campus Security Authority (CSA)/responsible person for Title IX and Clery Act compliance. Must participate in all required CSA/responsible person training.
Contributes to unit planning, assessment, and College institutional effectiveness efforts.
Acts in accordance with College policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Educational:
Associate degree in Nursing or related healthcare field required. Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related healthcare field preferred.
Experiential:
Minimum of two (2) years related work experience in a healthcare field required.
Other:
Must possess professionalism and well-developed organizational, communication/interpersonal, and presentation. Must have the ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve shared goals. Operational knowledge of personal computers, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel preferred.
