ABOUT THE JOB

Learning Assistants participate in large-lecture classrooms to help faculty create active and engaging learning spaces. Acting as a Learning Assistant (LA) allows students to build close professional connections with faculty members, review important material for their major or post-UC career, and support their peers. Learning Assistants support faculty for remote and in-person courses. Outside of class, LAs host an office hour each week. Some LAs deliver content reviews to Learning Communities each week under the oversight of this position. Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a series of weekly review sessions for students in historically difficult courses - indicated by a high rate of D or F grades and withdrawals.
