Description:
King University, a Christian liberal arts college founded in the Presbyterian tradition and located in the picturesque foothills of East Tennessee, invites applications to fill the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Chemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences. This is a full-time, twelve-month position, beginning in Fall 2022. The teaching load is 24 credit hours per year and will primarily involve teaching General, Analytical, and Physical Chemistry.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified applicants will possess a PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field with the ability to teach General, Analytical, and Physical Chemistry and an enthusiasm for teaching and an interest in supervising research at an undergraduate level.
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in Chemistry with a focus in either Analytical or Physical Chemistry and one or more years of full-time teaching experience.
Responsibilities:
A successful candidate will be expected to teach three Chemistry lecture courses and two or three lab sections each semester. Candidate is also expected to advise students, develop curriculum, hold at least five office hours per week, and participate in institutional as well as church/community service.
