King University of Bristol, Tennessee, a Christian university located in beautiful northeast Tennessee, is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Education in the School of Education. This position is a full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure track position to begin Fall, 2023. King University is a Presbyterian-affiliated, coeducational, doctoral-level, comprehensive university offering majors, minors, and concentrations in fields such as business, nursing, social work, health sciences, education, and humanities. King University has received national and international acclaim for excellence in academic and athletic programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
An earned terminal/doctoral degree (EdD/PhD) in education from an accredited institution with preference given to those with at least 18 hours of leadership and/or administration; an active state teaching license in the United States; a minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching K-12; and exhibit motivation and high interest in teacher preparation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Administrative experience at the school or county level; two years of success in a school leadership position in the United States; knowledge of and experience with the TEAM Model of Assessment for Tennessee teachers.

Responsibilities:
The Director of Teacher Education is responsible for managing the teacher candidate process to include the following: serve as liaison between King and placement sites, secure state recognized partnerships with regional school systems, place students for clinical field work, train mentor teachers, and work with the Dean to manage compliance with all policies and procedures for continued accreditation of the Teacher Education Program. Candidates should possess varied experiences and expertise in the field of K-12 education, must demonstrate excellent communication skills and experience in working with diverse groups, and teach courses using on-ground and online delivery at the Bristol campus, and potentially at the Knoxville campus. Courses to be taught include undergraduate and graduate courses in general education, and secondary/elementary education.
