**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., College of Medicine, Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine, is seeking a full-time senior clinical research professional to assist in their clinical research.   
The DISCOVERY (Determinants of Incident Stroke Cognitive Outcomes and Vascular Effects on RecoverY) Network is a landmark study investigating the mechanisms of post-stroke cognitive impairment and dementia with a goal to develop potential targets for personalized medicine and dramatically reduce the rates of cognitive and functional disability in stroke patients.  

 

As the Senior Clinical Research Professional dedicated to the NIH-funded DISCOVERY study, the candidate will have the opportunity to lead a collaborative and enthusiastic research team in this high enrolling study for which we are collecting medical history, blood samples and imaging data in stroke patients to determine factors associated with brain health and cognitive changes after stroke.  We are one of 30 sites across the country, and as a team, hope to recruit 300 (~12 patients per month) out of the total 8000 planned subjects.  The candidate will have the opportunity to learn from, and work with, coordinators who are actively recruiting and enrolling in DISCOVERY.  The coordinator will work closely with our research manager and local DISCOVERY PI.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Work closely with research manager and current research team to learn best practices in clinical trial management and subject enrollment.   *Maintain accurate and organized subject level data in paper and electronic form and be expected to keep the DISCOVERY database, screening logs and clarification requests up to date.   *Assist in other stroke clinical trials as needed in order to assist in our team-based, collaborative approach to trial enrollments. *Complete and maintain essential regulatory documents and complete IRB submissions for review. *Attend meetings, including general research and DISCOVERY-specific meetings. *Ensure that all data entry and logs are up to date. *Proficient in inpatient recruitment. *Assist with education of other team members regarding the DISCOVERY study.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
*Bachelor's Degree must be in a related field. *For nursing focused role, BSN is required. *Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
REQUIRED TRAININGS/CERTIFICATIONS
*For nursing focused role, BSN in the area of clinical specialization, and RN License in State of Ohio.  *For social work focused role, licensure in the area of clinical specialization.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
*Three (3) years of related experience. *For nursing focused roles, appropriate clinical procedural experience.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED
*Enthusiasm towards patient recruitments. *SoCRA or ACRP certification. *Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.   *Ability to think outside the box to offer innovative strategies for patient recruitment would be lauded. *Experience in an academic or clinical setting.
