Position Summary
The Grant Administrator works closely with
UCA
faculty and staff in the development and submission of competitive grant proposals and in the handling of contracts, agreements, and subawards. With attention to detail and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement, the Grant Administrator ensures that all proposals are submitted on time and in compliance with funder policies,

Uniform Guidance.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Grant Administrator is responsible for collaborating with
UCA
faculty, staff, and students in the completion of all proposals according to requirements, developing grant budgets, routing grant proposals, contracts, and agreements internally, and submitting proposals. Must have the ability to develop relationships and to manage multiple long-term, large-scale projects with multiple deadlines. Additionally, the Grant Administrator is responsible for overseeing award acceptance, award release, and handoff to the Post-Award Specialist. The Grant Administrator reviews all outgoing proposals and contracts for completeness and correctness. They maintain expertise in the field, including the mastery of federal and non-federal solicitations and portals (Cayuse, Grants.gov, Research.gov, etc.), through continuous monitoring. They are responsible for providing faculty with accurate, up-to-date guidance for their proposals. They work closely with grant accounting, purchasing, and academic departments. The Grant Administrator collaborates with their colleagues in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs to develop effective communication and training materials about university policies and procedures, research, and grants for the
UCA
community, including in-person trainings, newsletters, webinars, and videos.

Knowledge of state and federal laws applicable to higher education operations. Knowledge of program planning, monitoring, and evaluation techniques. Ability to plan work unit objectives and operational activities and to assign and direct the work of subordinate supervisors. Ability to interpret and apply applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to evaluate operational effectiveness and compliance. Ability to prepare and present verbal and written information. Ability to develop and implement goals, objectives, guidelines, policies and procedures. Ability to communicate with a diverse group of employees and with the public.

Required Education and/or Experience
Minimum qualifications include a masters degree or at least 2 years of experience in grants management. Must be proficient in the suite of Google tools, Word, Excel, Acrobat,
PPT
, and data entry. Experience in higher education and certification in research administration (
CRA
or
CRPA
) are recommended but not required.
