JOB OVERVIEW
The Department of Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science (MPCS) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Statistics. The Department of MPCS currently has 27 full-time faculty teaching courses from developmental mathematics through calculus, differential equations, statistics, as well as physics and computer science. The primary responsibility associated with this position is teaching a range of statistics classes at the freshman and sophomore levels. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the governance and committee work of the department, college, and university, be professionally active in the discipline of statistics and the scholarship of teaching and learning, utilize teaching pedagogies that promote diversity and inclusion in the classroom, and be flexible with the use of different modes of instruction (face-to-face, fully online, and hybrid). The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours (usually four courses) per semester and may include daytime, evening, and/or weekend classes; class sizes normally range from 20 to 30 students. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
All of the following prior to the effective date of the appointment: A Master's degree in Statistics, or in a related field with 18 graduate credit hours in Statistics; and at least two academic years of experience in teaching Statistics at the college level.
