The Executive Director (ED) is responsible and accountable for further developing and implementing the strategic vision of the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Buccino Leadership Institute. The ED will be a full-time, on
site Administrator, reporting to the Provost of the University. Job responsibilities are detailed below. The University Provost will evaluate the performance of the ED.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The role of the ED is to sustain and grow a culture that inspires and motivates people to find and achieve their life’s purpose and meaning, one that enables everyone to discover their unique gifts, builds confidence and a life lived with passion, excitement and joy, one that values diversity in all its richness and depth. It is a culture of family, one of caring and supporting each other, one in which people stand in the shoes of others always seeking first to understand and see through different eyes. In 1996, the Buccino Leadership Institute laid its founding roots in the Stillman School of Business. In the years since, it has expanded to include the students from seven other colleges and schools within the University, and has achieved national recognition. For five consecutive years, it was ranked as the #1 Educational Certificate Program with an Emphasis on Leadership and Organizational Development by HR.com. More recently, in 2022, it was named recipient of the Outstanding Program award by the Association of Leadership Educators (ALE).

To continue to advance the impact and excellence of the Buccino Leadership Institute, the ED’s duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Within the Institute:

• Being a leadership coach, mentor and servant leader to all members of the University Community (e.g. students, Administrators, Faculty and stakeholders) in their, and their organization’s leadership growth and professional development

• Supporting the Directors and Associate Directors in continuing to assess and further improve the quality of discipline-specific and interdisciplinary leadership programs addressing both opportunities for standardization

• Managing the Institute’s assets; developing and managing its operating budget, including restricted and endowed funds’ prepare its Annual Report which should summarize operational and financial metrics, highlight achievements and demonstrate strategy for future years

• Overseeing the development and implementation of the Institute’s Executive Development Program as an exemplary model of outstanding executive development and as a source of earned revenue to the Institute and **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.

• Continuing to advance thought leadership in the Institute by the creation and publication of leadership research through partnering with the schools, involving students in the research efforts and in the publication of magazine articles and periodicals (e.g. In the Lead magazine)

• Providing performance feedback and development opportunities for the Directors and Associate Directors

Across the University:

• Partnering and collaborating closely with the University’s Office of Enrollment Management in the establishment and management of the processes for recruiting, identifying and selecting of students for the Institute, which may include attending open house and other recruiting events and developing communication plans and other forms of outreach to attract new students

• Partnering and collaborating with the University’s Public Relations and Marketing department to develop and disseminate all marketing materials, including both digital and traditional media, to further promote the Institute and attract future students and stakeholders

• Partnering and collaborating with the University Advancement Team to fundraise and identify other development opportunities, including corporate sponsorships, foundation grants and major gifts

This position requires a full-time, on-campus presence to support students, engage with University leaders and monitor program delivery.
Required Qualifications:
The ED will have a rich portfolio of value-added and highly successful professional leadership experiences and achievements. It will include a proven record of operational, leadership and administrative accomplishments with certifications in coaching, assessments, trainings, experience developing leadership programs, as well as evidence of highly successful leaders who have benefitted from those programs.

The candidate will have demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively, be entrepreneurial, communicate passionately about leadership and have strong emotional intelligence skills. Visionary thinking, thought leadership, the ability to address the challenges of disruption in the professional world and technology, and a passionate pursuit of continuing to move from the ‘as is’ to the ‘what can be’ are key elements in candidate selection. The candidate’s leadership experience will reflect a deep valuing of the importance, richness and criticality of diversity in all its forms in personal and professional development. The candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, and be an exemplar of highest principles, values and standards of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. and the Buccino Leadership Institute.
