The Department of Judaic Studies in the College of Arts & Sciences at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. invites applications for the Jewish Foundation Chair of Judaic Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor of Modern Jewish Religion and Culture. This is a full-time tenure-track position, beginning August 15, 2022. Our mission emphasizes a commitment to diversity and to collaborative projects nationally and internationally.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Teaching responsibilities will be a 2-2 load and include Introduction to Jewish Civilization II: 1500 to the Present as well as other courses in the candidate's field of study. Candidates will advise research projects of advanced undergraduate and graduate students and will be expected to integrate digital technologies into the classroom. The successful candidate will help grow Religious Studies at UC, eg. by developing new courses.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Candidates should be trained and employ theories and methods in the study of Religion in their research. Prior to the effective date of appointment, candidates must have a Ph.D. in Jewish Studies, Religious Studies, or a related field. Candidates will have some teaching experience and will be evaluated on their potential for becoming leading scholars and achieving excellence in teaching.
