Elementary School Counselor
Position Purpose:
To provide a comprehensive guidance program for students in grades K-12. To provide proactive leadership that engages all stakeholders in the delivery of programs and services to help students to achieve success in school. School counselors are professional educators with a mental health perspective who understand and respond to the challenges presented by today’s diverse student population.



Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in counseling or equivalent.

Valid ND school counseling credential from North Dakota Department of Public Instruction and appropriate licensure from ND Education Standards and Practices Board or ability to obtain prior to the start date; ability to license with a plan of study may be considered.

Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program;

Ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned.

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents; skill in oral and written communication.

Ability to maintain the confidentiality of schools, teachers, and classrooms.

Basic proficiency with instructional technology.



Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a school setting.

Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations.
