Wellness Director for **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Arizona Health Education Alliance will work with key academic leadership to develop and lead efforts to promote faculty, fellow, resident and student wellness, including the development and implementation of a wellness curriculum and related policies.
The Wellness Director will build and maintain wellness programs and interventions to support faculty and all learners across the Alliance in the identification, mitigation, and resolution of prevalent stressors. The Wellness Director will promote a system of support as well as a network of available resources and referrals to help common and unique stressors that impact physical health, mental health and other wellness needs of faculty, fellows, residents and students.
In partnership with academic leadership, develops and maintains curriculum to promote well-being, education, success, and retention among all faculty and learners.
Coordinates and integrates wellness activities across the Alliance training sites in Arizona.
Educates faculty on how to anticipate, recognize, and support learners in addressing their wellness needs.
Identifies and builds cohesive and accessible wellness tools and resources within training sites and Phoenix community.
Assesses the needs of faculty and learners regarding counseling/education on a regular basis; compiles and disseminates to appropriate academic leadership stakeholders the results of surveys, and/or interviews.

Evaluates and monitors impact of wellness activities or programs. Advocates for Arizona-based Creighton faculty, residents, fellows and students, as appropriate, regarding matters affecting well-being.
Identifies best practices and future trends in wellness to continuously improve offerings.
Seeks and applies for grant funding to support innovative wellness initiatives.
Provides guidance and referrals as needed for concerns about well-being. Provides referral resources for medical care, psychological therapy, substance dependency treatment, tutoring, study skills improvement, harassment, and financial or legal concerns.
Identifies and provides direct assistance for faculty and learners in developing and monitoring individualized wellness plans.
Assesses resource needs and develops budget recommendations; oversees acquisition and use of current technology and capital equipment; monitors physical facilities and oversees the coordination of requests for needed repairs and renovations.
Provides guidance and direction around personnel recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation as needed.
Participates as needed in leadership committee meetings, establishes and maintains close collaborations with Alliance partners; and serves on relevant committees within the teaching sites.
Provides safe space for faculty and learners to raise concerns, when traditional chain of command is not an option. As needed, request internal inquiries to explore/resolve concerns raised.
Required Education and Experience:
Advance Degree in Psychology, Educational Psychology, Higher Education, Health & Wellness, Adult Education, Counseling or related field.
5 years of experience in professional setting serving a diverse population.
Experience working and maintaining effective relationships with students, staff, and faculty in a rigorous academic setting.
Experience in program development, coordination and delivery of effective student learning services.
Experience in strategic planning, organizational management, or project planning
Additional Preferred Education and Experience:
Terminal degree in Psychology, Educational Psychology, Higher Education, Health & Wellness Adult Education, Counseling, or related field.
Experience working with medical students and/or wellness programs in adult learners.
Experience in program evaluation and research in wellness initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of wellness principles, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of wellness curriculum development, educational and training resources.
Excels at project planning, execution and follow-up.
Strong team player that excels at building relationships.
Skill in student mentoring and development.
Skill in managing and coordinating tasks.
Skill in office-based software applications.
Ability to communicate in writing and orally, including public speaking.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, cultures, and stakeholders.
