Professor

Construction Technology and Residential Construction
Management
to join Missoula College’s growing program within the Department of Industrial Technology. Qualified individuals are invited to apply for a tenure-track assistant professor position that will join our team to provide high quality education, training, and mentorship to the next generation of Construction Industry leaders. Missoula College offers degrees, certificates and workforce training across disciplines primarily within the Residential Construction Technology sector including:
Two-year Associates of Applied Science in Sustainable Construction Technology.
One-year certificate of Applied Science in Carpentry.
One-year certificate of Applied Science in Engineering Technology (CAD/BIM).
One-year certificate of Applied Science in Residential Construction Supervision.
Certificate of Technical Skills in Green Building.
Qualified individuals are invited to apply for a tenure-track Assistant Professor
position that will join our team to provide high quality education, training, and mentorship to the next generation of Construction Industry leaders.
Role and Responsibilities
Assuming primary responsibility for and exercising oversight on all courses assigned, including review, development, and/or enhancement or curriculum and learning exercises.
Participating in the overall strategic development and implementation of the mission, goals, and objectives of the department, as well as Program Pathways for related degrees, certificates, and workforce training.
Participating in on-going program assessment and working within a team to develop plans to improve program coursework, delivery, and student success.
Teaching program courses both face-to-face and online.
Maintaining current knowledge of the industry and related professions as well as current educational methodologies.
Ensuring that units of instruction follow syllabi which clearly state measurable objectives, student activities, learning resources, time allotment, grading criteria, and student evaluation methods.
Earning and maintaining knowledge, credentials, and experience in multiple related industry programs.
Having the ability to complete training and achieving relevant industry recognized credentials as provided by the department, (e.g., OSHA, NAHB. LEED, PMI, etc.).
Working to identify, recruit, and retain qualified faculty for all discipline specific courses and workforce training.
Organizing and assigning teaching workload for various classes and lab oversight, in consultation with the Department Chair.
Engaging in learning, training, or professional development opportunities on emerging industry trends, technology, teaching pedagogy, curriculum development in areas related to program goals and teaching assignments.
Serving in advisory role for related student organizations and groups, student competitions, or other projects related to the program and curriculum.
Working to recruit and regularly engage industry advisory board members to provide program updates, curriculum improvement assistance, and facilitating greater industry participation.
As part of tenure track requirements, participating in professional development, service to the university and community, and work towards continued professional improvement.
