Based in the Institute for Advanced Teaching and Learning (IATL), the post of Student Research Support Officer is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a both a key pillar of the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. strategy and to a landmark event in the area. The combined World Congress of Undergraduate Research (WorldCUR) and British Conference of Undergraduate Research (BCUR), to be hosted by the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. in April 2023, will offer the opportunity for undergraduates from around the world to showcase their research on a national and international scale. It will represent over a decade of cross-faculty work by IATL in this important strategic area.
This role, with a fixed-term contract ending on 30th September 2023, will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to feed into this milestone event at all levels. The post holder will support the delivery of the joint conferences, managing a programme of activities to inspire undergraduates, stimulate research conversations, and engage staff and students with the wide variety of student research carried out at Warwick and beyond. Managing both internal and external communications, including our student research and conference webpages and social media channels, the Student Research Support Officer will work across departments at Warwick and make links to existing programmes, as well as developing local, national and international links to enhance the student experience. The role will involve complex abstract review, timetabling and interdisciplinary scheduling activities. The post holder will also carry out the import role of evaluating the event and ensuring that its legacy is embedded into the University.
The Student Research Support Officer will bring a strong background and experience in event organisation and / or externally facing project management and delivery, as well as experience in the HE sector, to manage the organisation of WorldCUR/BCUR and contribute to the delivery of the University’s student research strategy, with a strongly student-focused approach.
Please note, we would welcome applications for internal secondments, and we would consider a job-share. The University is working to a hybrid model, so some flexibility is possible within the role.
