JOB OVERVIEW
The Department of English and Comparative Literature at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in British Literature, open area, to begin Fall 2022.

 

The English Department at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. offers the Ph.D. in Literature and a B.A. major and minor with concentration in Literary and Cultural Studies. We are a large and robust Department which houses the Helen Weinberger Center for Drama & Playwriting, the George Elliston Poetry Room, the Cincinnati Review, an annual Visiting Writers Series, and an undergraduate literary journal, among other projects and collaborations. As a Research I institution, **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is home to the Charles Phelps Taft Research Center, which provides competitive research support and programming in the humanities. The City of Cincinnati also offers unique opportunities for community outreach, including with the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The responsibilities for this position include: a 2-2 teaching load of both undergraduate and graduate classes in English, including teaching Shakespeare through the application of innovative methods; advising graduate students (including participation on exam and dissertation committees); writing and publication in one's area(s) of expertise, including but not limited to literature at the intersections of race and ethnicity, inclusive of anti-colonial studies, postcolonial studies and/or performance studies, and/or an interdisciplinary focus on African diaspora, Anglo****.
