JOB OVERVIEW
The Department of Romance and Arabic Languages and Literatures (RALL) in the College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor Educator of Spanish.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The successful candidate can expect to:
*Teach four courses per semester in RALL at the undergraduate level. *Coordinate basic Spanish language classes, in which case course reductions would be granted. *Teach courses that may include, but not be limited to, Spanish language, literature, culture and/or linguistics courses from the introductory to the advanced undergraduate levels. *Demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching by utilizing innovative technologies and evidence-based teaching methods, including Distance Learning and task-based learning. *Service activities such as serving on departmental, College-wide, or University-wide committees will also be expected.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
All of the following are required prior to the effective date of the appointment:
*PhD in Spanish. *Minimum of three academic years of experience teaching courses in Spanish language, literature, culture, or linguistics at the college (undergraduate or graduate) level, which could have been as a teaching assistant, adjunct or full-time faculty. *Native or near-native fluency in Spanish.
