The Department of Pediatrics has an exciting opportunity has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Sr. Teacher. The Sr. Teacher provides intervention services for children at home or at childcare centers. More specifically, the incumbent will conduct developmental intervention to children with mild delays, complete accurate record keeping including implementation of the Developmental Assessment and Plan of Care and Weekly Progress Notes.
Provides evaluation/assessment/education program following a developmental model of intervention for each child on caseload.
Consults with early care coordinator regarding referrals.
Identifies individual goals and objectives according to those identified on the developmental Assessment and Plan of Care.
Provides one hour intervention sessions, two to three times per week, at identified home and child care centers for individual children with developmental delays for 12 to 16 week periods.
Provides individual one-hour weekly home intervention sessions for up to 16 sessions.
Maintains records for weekly plan of care, attendance log, and travel log.
Maintains custody and care of assigned equipment and materials.
Monitors of health and safety of children in their home.
Complies with the confidentiality guidelines defined under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and protected Health Information as defined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) by treating all student information as confidential.
Reports knowledge or reasonable suspicion of abuse, neglect, or abandonment of a child to the Florida abuse hotline.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Education of the Hearing Impaired, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or related field.
Infant Toddler Developmental Specialist Certification (ITDS) and/or Teacher's Certification in the State of Florida or eligibility to obtain such certification.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
