Recognised globally in terms of publications, impact and influence - and training the greatest number of students in this field - the city’s three world-leading scientific institutions: the University of Plymouth, the Marine Biological Association and Plymouth Marine Laboratory collectively formed Marine Research Plymouth (MRP), a partnership to harness the full scientific and technological capabilities of Britain’s ‘Ocean City’. Marine Research Plymouth seeks to harness all of this and ensure Plymouth is the go-to destination in the UK, and one of the leading centres globally, for marine-related research. It will ensure Plymouth is even better-placed to attract further funding for initiatives that can advance knowledge and understanding of the oceans while encouraging joint investment in research appointments and supporting the sharing of capabilities, equipment and facilities You could be part of this unique opportunity, as Director, you will help to enable achievements and innovations to go further and will cement Plymouth and the South West as the leading marine research location. You will be responsible for the connection between industry and the partnership to drive Plymouth forward. You will have a leading research profile in a relevant area of marine research and be familiar with the research and innovation landscape. Able to effectively utilise strong national and international relationships you will support Marine Research Plymouth to achieve its academic, research and innovation strategic goals. You will be an experienced negotiator and will have proven collaboration skills.
