JOB OVERVIEW
Provide the university with leadership and professional technical expertise in partnership with UC Central Purchasing to ensure all technology purchases are vetted and implemented to support the EIT Accessibility Policy and WCAG 2.0AA guidelines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Direct Accessibility Network operational initiatives and strategies. Serve as accessibility lead, SME and decision-maker from operational and IT standpoint. *Lead efforts to educate the university community about ADA/504/508 accessibility compliance initiatives centered on IT@UC technology purchases. Review VPATs and RFPs for technology purchases.  *Support the development of corrective action strategies to address accessibility audit concerns, particularly around third-party systems and applications being purchased or upgraded. *Develop procedures surrounding external inquiries or concerns regarding the accessibility of electronic and information technology. *Manage Accessibility Network project management, goals, team meetings, communications and status check-ins. *Partner with the EIT Coordinator to form strategy and implementation efforts, including audits and data tracking, for EIT Accessibility. *Represent the Accessibility Network in IT@UC Governance process to ensure that university processes, policies and standards ensure compliance with applicable laws. *Ensure the development, revision, publication, and maintenance of accessible web, digital and mobile content in conjunction with emerging technologies and industry transformation.  *Maintain the Accessibility Network website and Bearcats Landing. *In partnership with the Accessibility Network, communicate to the campus community changes to accessibility compliance laws, updates to policies, and other changes to accessibility procedures. *Network and collaborate with key partners across the university to support the strategic priorities of the program's governance. *Support the UCIT Project Management Office in ensuring accessibility of new systems.  *Coordinate and execute Digital Inclusion Day. *Attend technology vendor demos when applicable. *May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). 
REQUIRED EDUCATION
*Bachelor's degree *Nine (9) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
*Five (5) years of relevant experience to include supporting faculty/staff in the implementation of accessibility requirements and best practices, specifically related to technology purchases, implementations and upgrades. *Understanding of regulatory standards and requirements for web accessibility such as the WCAG 2.0 and Section508 accessibility standards. *Excellent & effective communication skills; ability to interact w/ stakeholders from all levels of a complex organization. *Strong understanding of functional accessibility of websites, web applications, & electronic documents for people with disabilities. *Experience with disability non-discrimination provisions of state and federal laws or at least 1-year experience in regulatory compliance. *Significant knowledge of current and emerging accessibility development practices and assistive technology. *Previous supervision.
