position! This role is responsible for the coordination and implementation of academic accommodations granted to students with disabilities, including flexibility with attendance, peer note-taking assistance, and accessible furniture and equipment. Successful candidates will have the interpersonal skills to foster collaborative relationships with department, division, and university communities, as well as the organizational skills to coordinate and track a significant amount of information. This position supports students with disabilities in the post-secondary setting which requires expertise in interpretation and application of disability law.Working within a collaborative framework with other departmental team members, the Accommodation Support Coordinator strives to ensure effective program and service delivery occurs in alignment with established processes and guidelines. This position is a core staff contributor who provides direct service to students, faculty and staff.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Accommodation Support
Coordinate all aspects of the accommodation implementation processes for the flexibility with attendance plan (Flex Plan), Note-taking assistance, and accessible furniture and equipment needs. Ensure accommodations are provided in an effective and timely manner by adhering to established internal procedures. Detailed responsibilities for these areas can be found below: Engage in difficult conversations to ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures, such as ADA and OCR guidance, as they pertain to the implementation of the Flex Plan and Peer Note-taking processes.
Collaborate with DS leadership on organizational planning and brainstorming of operations for the following semester.
Anticipate future needs and maintain current knowledge of campus resources that offer support for a student's academic needs.
Manage the primary Flex Plan and Note-taking email accounts and all associated software, which includes Accommodate, Google Drive, Microsoft Office Suite, and Qualtrics.
Identify and refer communications not related to Flex Plan or Peer Note-taking programs to appropriate resources.
Recognize when to bring up a certain communication to a supervisor for their review.
Flex Plan
Supervise and collaborate with part-time Flex Assistant graduate student to: Identify and track Flex Plan requests, send request notifications to faculty, and ensure the implementation of the Flex Plan in a timely manner.
Review all Flex Plan communications via email, phone, or Zoom from CU administration, DS staff, faculty, and students.
Collaborate with faculty to draft, review, and finalize a Flex Plan for each requested course.
Advise faculty on recommendations for appropriate verbiage and how to establish reasonable flexibility for each course.
Note-taking Assistance
Supervise and work with the part-time Peer Note-taking Assistant to: Manage note-taker requests, send recruitment emails to individual class rosters, and ensure the completion of each request in a timely and effective manner.
Organize incentive processes and submit invoices for volunteer note-takers.
Responsible for initial review of all Peer Note-taking communications from DS students, staff, and faculty.
Problem-solve urgent faculty and/or student needs as they arise.
Manage Glean software licenses and ensure student compliance with internal recording agreement form.
Accessible Furniture and Equipment
Work with building proctors across campus to coordinate the implementation of accessible furniture in classrooms across campus per student accommodations.
Supervise process to lend out accessible equipment to students, including FM Systems, microphones, smart-pens, and other assistive technology as needed.
Organize accessible furniture and equipment requests, send emails to students and building proctors, and ensure the completion of each request in a timely manner.
Alternate Format Production
This position will be trained to support the Alternate Format Production Manager as a backup for Alternate Format Consultations and processing alternate format requests from students each semester when needed.
Supervision Received and Exercised
This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Disability Services. In the absence of the Assistant Director of Disability Services, the position reports to the Director of Disability Services.
Supervision will be provided in cases of difficult to determine situations, and those that are intensified for a variety of reasons. In addition, supervision will provide guidance regarding personnel matters related to student employees who are supervised by the Accommodation Support Coordinator.
This position directly supervises the Flex Plan and Peer Note-taking Assistants, and note-takers hired as student-assistants. Responsibilities include hiring, training and supervising these positions.
Communication
Scheduled communications at the start, middle and end of each semester are an important component of each of the accommodations supported by this position. This requires great attention to detail, planning and execution to ensure students are aware of their responsibilities. Communications are supported by the Student Affairs Communications team.
Data Collection and Assessment
Provide monthly reports on identified data points to the DS Leadership Team. In addition, the coordinator will produce a semester report after each semester, which will feed into a larger yearly report and assessment.
Other Duties as Assigned
This position may be asked to assist in other areas of the office when needed, including coverage of the front desk and assistance with proctoring exams. Periodic evenings and weekends may be necessary during certain times of the year such as final exam week.

The salary range is $50,000 - $52,000.

What We Require
Bachelor's degree in education, special education, psychology, rehabilitation, counseling or closely related fields; or Bachelor's degree in business management, education administration, information technology, public administration or closely related.
Professional experience working with adolescents and/or adults with disabilities in an educational or comparable institutional setting may substitute for educational requirement on a year for year basis.
What You Will Need
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and communicate significant information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to effectively convey information through written and verbal communications.
Proficient digital literacy including software and file sharing applications.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to focus on multiple projects at once.
What We Would Like You To Have
Master's degree in education, special education, psychology, rehabilitation, counseling or closely related fields is preferred.
Previous professional experience working with adolescents and/or adults with disabilities in an educational or comparable institutional setting.
