PATIENT RELATIONS REP - STUDENT RADIOLOGY DEPT - FULL TIME','Full-time','Clinical Support','FULL TIME','FULL TIME','80','80','Occasional','Occasional','ARKANSAS-LITTLE ROCK-ST VINCENT INFIRMARY','','!*!JOB SUMMARY: In accordance with our mission and core values, the Patient Relations Rep is responsible for monitoring and impacting improvement in patient satisfaction for all radiology and medical diagnostic departments. The Patient Relations Rep meets and greets patients/family members, monitors comments received through the Healthstream Patient Experience Survey Tool, analyzes the weekly Out Patient Customer Satisfaction survey scores. The Patient Relations Rep identifies opportunities for improving care or preventing events that have a negative impact on patient care. Makes phone calls to discharged patients to ensure that they are comfortable with their care. Makes phone calls to scheduled interventional type patients to obtain medication list, describe the procedural process and address any concerns the patient and/or family may have. Assists with patients/families in all areas of the department. Educating in-patient floors on expectations in radiology. Facilitating in-services as it relates to patient experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides patients and patient families/significant others with updates, current status, any changes, or procedural delays. Answers patient/family questions appropriately.
- Provides and/or reinforces instructions to the patient and family regarding activities before and after diagnostic imaging/ GI procedure; assists in the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of patient/family educational needs so that adequate information is communicated.
Adheres to Diagnostic Imaging’s policy and procedures, safety, risk management, Universal Precautions Standards; maintains awareness of legal issues within the Generic Structure Standards.
Gathers patient information, medical history, allergies, current medication list, and other data useful in determining patient care.
Maintains presence in Diagnostic Imaging patient waiting areas to greet, answer questions, and address concerns.
Makes phone calls to interventional type patients, pre-procedure and post-procedure to provide/gather information and follow-up on any needs.
Monitors comments received through the Healthstream Patient Experience Survey Tool, analyzes weekly departmental patient satisfaction scores. Identifies opportunities for improving the patient/family experience.
Recognizes opportunities to prevent negative events that impact patients and families; utilizes proper resources to address these events.

','!*!MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, BSN required
License, Certification or Registration: Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse required. BLS certification required.
Experience: Two years RN experience, with one year of critical care experience required, patient customer service experience preferred.
Physical Requirements: The physical activities involve balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, grasping, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, and use of fingers and repetitive movements. An individual in this position may be required to carry or lift weight of up to 50 lbs. and push/pull 100-150 lbs. The sensory and communicative activities required for this position include feeling, hearing, seeing, smelling, and speaking. Individuals in this position could possibly be exposed to inside/outside environmental conditions, blood borne pathogens and body fluids, chemical hazards, respiratory hazards and radiological hazards.
Skills: Very strong customer service skills as courtesy and professionalism is required.
Excellent, patient/family focused communication skills, both orally and in written form required. The Patient Navigator must demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to deal effectively with multidisciplinary team members, patients, significant others, and physicians.
