Postdoctoral Research Associate
in the
W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation
. This position will be expected to expand and develop novel statistical models for estimating demographic rates from camera data. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will conduct analyses, write analysis code, prepare manuscripts for publications, prepare reports for project partners, and interact with multiple agencies. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be expected to work independently and communicate effectively. Additionally, they will be expected to travel to conferences and to visit colleagues as public health conditions allow. The Postdoctoral Research Associate manages the camera analysis research required for the grant funding, but will not supervise or manage classified staff.
Upon completion of training, the incumbent will have developed an understanding of camera trapping data, models, and analysis, and understanding of image analysis software and modeling.

Position Details
Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, Letter of Appointment and includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package

Salary for this position is $60,000 per year commensurate with qualifications.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in statistics, wildlife biology, ecology, or related field.
Understanding of the mathematical theory likelihood and Bayesian statistics.
Experience coding in R, matlab, or python.
Experience in implementing Markov chain Monte Carlo algorithms.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated record of scientific publication.
Experience with tidyverse programming in R.
Experience with Shiny.
