Job Description
Job Goal:
To support and promulgate innovative student learning programs which prepare all students with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions that will help them be successful learners, leaders, and contributors ready for college and careers
Supervisory and Major Responsibilities:
Works in conjunction with the ASI and teacher leaders to articulate a vision and goals for the visual and performing arts and provide budgetary oversight
Oversees the coordination by teacher leaders of visual and performing arts programs and opportunities for student participation offered outside the district
Assumes responsibility for the professional development for staff in visual and performing arts
With building administrators and other directors, assumes responsibility for the recruitment, staffing and evaluation of teachers in multi-disciplinary areas including visual and performing arts
Plans, develops and directs district-wide priorities for curriculum development across multi-disciplinary programs infusing innovative strategies and analyzing results
Assumes responsibility for the professional development for staff in support of 21
st
century classrooms
Works in conjunction with the Director of Technology to coordinate the integration of technology on a District-wide basis
Oversees Instructional Technology team including District Technology Instructional Coaches, Building Based Technology Mentors and District Data Team
Facilitate and serve on monthly district and building level technology meetings
Other duties and tasks as assigned
Other Tasks, Activities and Responsibilities:
Data Compliance:
° Supports the DPO on best practices in coordination with Education Law 2D
° Manage analytics and reports of application usage
° Review district applications, permissions, and compliance
° Implement data security and privacy training, education, and awareness for staff
° Assist the DPO with investigations and responses to breaches or unauthorized releases of district data and student data
° Other duties and tasks as assigned
Job Qualifications
Qualifications:
° Possesses a minimum of 5 successful years’ experience as a teacher and/or administrator, as well as a broad understanding of 21
st
century curriculum design, instructional trends and learning environments. Experience in curriculum development and teacher evaluation. Possesses initiative, dependability, and integrity. NYS Certification as School Administrator/Supervisor or School District Administrator
