JOB OVERVIEW
The Department of Romance and Arabic Languages and Literatures (RALL) in the College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor Educator of Spanish The successful candidate can expect to teach four courses per semester in RALL at the undergraduate level. These courses may include, but not be limited to, Spanish language, literature, and/or culture courses from the introductory to the advanced undergraduate levels The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching by utilizing innovative technologies and teaching methods from prior teaching experience, including Distance Learning, Second-Language Acquisition, as well as active and task-based learning Service activities such as serving on departmental, College-wide, or University-wide committees and organizing Spanish study abroad or local immersion programs will also be expected
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
All of the following are required prior to the effective date of the appointment: a Ph D in Spanish; minimum of three academic years of experience teaching courses in Spanish language, literature, or culture at the college (undergraduate or graduate) level, which could have been as a teaching assistant, adjunct or full-time faculty; and native or near-native fluency in Spanish.
