Profile

Purpose:
Lead the development and facilitation of workforce and community education program offerings for the College district.
Classification:

Relationships:
Dean of Career and Technical Education, Coordinator of Career Development, Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Career and Technical Education, Hourly Workers, Contractual Workers, Faculty, Staff, Students, and Workforce Partners.
Major Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day activities of all workforce and community education programs and services at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***..
Conduct research and activities, including local needs assessments and labor market data analyses, to ensure program offerings and services are aligned with community and industry needs.
Identify, develop, and implement workforce and community education offerings, both credit and non-credit, including, but not limited to: workshops, seminars, trips, youth camps, customized courses and short-term trainings.
Responsible for the design, development, scheduling, marketing, recruitment, enrollment, fiscal management, data management, and delivery of all workforce and community education programs.
Maintain and provide necessary ICCB documentation, contracts, pay sheets, expense requests, requests for pay, fiscal records and reports.
Lead a diverse community education advisory committee and glean committee feedback in an effort to provide lifelong learning opportunities that serve all members of the community college district.
Act as a liaison between the College and workforce development partners, representing the College at workforce development meetings and events.
Manage nationally recognized Career and Technical Student Organization chapters that support workforce readiness.
Assist in the development and delivery of CTE student work-based learning activities, including mentorships, and assist with post-graduation follow-up to evaluate effectiveness of such activities as they relate to gainful employment.
Seek, assist in the application of, and manage grants related to workforce and community education.
Lead the collection of assessment information from workforce and community education programs. Utilize assessment information for evaluation of programmatic improvement. Assist in the strategic planning process and systematic program review.
Make presentations to appropriate groups and periodically report workforce and community education updates to College Leadership and Administration.
Attend all required meetings, trainings and seminars.
Other duties as assigned.

Community relations and marketing.
Economic development initiatives.
Career and Technical Education advisory committee member selection and meetings.
Registration and on-site implementation of programs.
Management of the Perkins grant and related Career and Technical Education grants.
Risk Management and Loss Prevention Activities
Actively participate in and carry out activities in support of the college Risk Management Program in a capacity appropriate to this position.
Monitor conditions, events, and circumstances present in the college operation to avoid potential torts or injuries to students, staff, or the general public, then communicate observations to the appropriate supervisor and/or Risk Management Committee.
Maintain a working knowledge of the college’s emergency procedures and how to operate emergency phone systems; including internal/external call boxes.
Minimum Necessary Skills, Experience, and Educational Background
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Community education or workforce development experience preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and to work effectively with teachers/faculty.
Strong management and organizational skills and excellent interpersonal skills required.
Working knowledge of computer systems and software.
Valid driver's license.
Some evening and/or weekend work and travel may be required.
Must be able to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Possess strong verbal, written, analytical skills, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
The ability to communicate successfully with clients of all ages, socio-economic status, sex, or race.
Spanish or French proficiency preferred.
Physical Requirements to Perform Job Functions
General physical effort required includes standing, walking, some bending, lifting and reaching. Capable of lifting 20 lbs.
Basic dexterity skills (computer work, telephoning).
