Job Summary
The Academic Support Engineer, Senior provides academic, technical and administrative support to faculty, staff, and students in academic settings in the department of ECSE. The Academic Support Engineer, Sr. is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all instrumentation and peripherals for assigned courses and laboratories. The position works closely with faculty in developing new labs and courses by designing and fabricating equipment or modifying existing equipment. Additional duties include training students, researchers and faculty on safe and proper use of equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electronic engineering or related field
5 years of experience with electronic lab equipment and support
Applicants must meet stated minimum education and experience requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
1 year of circuit design experience
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to research, analyze, and interpret engineering and technical data
Familiarity with machine tools, manufacturing equipment, and robotics and their ancillaries as well as general shop usage of hand tools and measuring instruments. Equipment can be both conventional or computer numerical controlled
Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical design practices
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
Strong technical, planning, organizing and effective time management skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
Ability to anticipate and solve problems
Shift
Business Hours with weekends or evenings occasionally required
