The office is committed to developing an enriching and collaborative environment in which faculty members are supported to grow intellectually and professionally.Responsibilities:This position will report to the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and Development. The incumbent's primary duties entail a diverse range of administrative office support and program responsibilities including, but not limited to:Managing, coordinating, and supporting various programs and initiatives (e.g., Faculty Mentoring Communities, Inclusive Excellence series), including facilitating communications for both participants and (co-) facilitators, scheduling (virtually and/or in-person), logistics, agendas, and follow up on other items as needed;Planning, coordinating, and executing major events (e.g., New Faculty Orientation, New Adjunct Faculty Success Workshop);Managing faculty awards (e.g., SCHEV Outstanding Faculty Awards), including overseeing nominations and notifications, in addition to reviewing and submitting award packets as needed;Facilitating program assessment activities;Editing and reviewing associated print documents and online materials, updating various online support tools (e.g., Blackboard organizations, webpages, MS Teams folders);Assisting office team in annual reporting and assessment (e.g., Tk20); andCollaborating and coordinating with other administrative staff as appropriate; as needed, will assist in supervising student workers and the Mason FACTS launch.Required Qualifications:A bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. The candidate should have professional experience focused on administrative tasks (typically 2 years);Detail-oriented with the ability to organize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously;Advanced interpersonal and communication skills (e.g., writing, editing, speaking);Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access) and with using web-conferencing software (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams);Experience with website management (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, and/or html);Experience interacting with constituents across levels of an organization; andAbility to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate in a strong team environment.Successful applicants will have demonstrated abilities to exercise independent judgement, take initiative, and exhibit curiosity and a willingness to learn. Experience working in a fast-paced office setting with multiple concurrent projects in play will be an asset.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of Blackboard, MS Teams, and/or other collaborative working tools;Design experience (e.g., brochures, programs, and other materials) using Adobe suite a plus; andExperience in a higher education setting.
