The Queen’s College seeks to appoint an eight-hour Stipendiary Lecturer in Classics for one year from 1st October 2022. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing eight hours a week (averaged over the academic year) of undergraduate tuition in Classics at Queen’s.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach the following papers: Homer, Iliad; Vergil, Aeneid; Texts and Contexts (Greek and Latin); Early Greek Hexameter Poetry; Greek Tragedy; Greek Core; and the College-based Classical components of Link papers with Classics and English and Classics and Modern Languages. (Teaching materials such as reading lists and essay questions can be supplied upon request.) 
Salary and Allowances
The postholder will receive a salary on the recommended scale for an eight-hour Stipendiary Lecturer, currently £18,616 to £20,937 per annum. They will also receive a housing allowance of £3,730 per annum. The lecturer can also apply for an allowance for teaching materials (books, materials, etc) of up to £1,252 per annum (under review).
