invites applications for a
Senior Assistant Director of Manager of Intramurals and Camps
to join their team. This position is responsible for managing all the operations of the Campus Recreation Intramural programs and Summer Youth Camps (a ten-week program for youth from around the region.) This position will primarily be responsible for supervising the Intramural and Camps Coordinator as well as student camp and student intramural staff.
Responsibilities for this position includes but is not limited to:
Hiring, training, budgeting, scheduling and evaluating student, temporary, and classified staff
Managing the planning, implementation, and evaluating of intramural, club sport, summer youth camp, workshops, and other programmatic offerings
Goal development and evaluation and providing input on strategic planning
Providing direct supervision to the Intramural and Camps Coordinator
Creating and implementing policies and procedures
Analysis of sport and camp trends and report generation
Responsible for inventory management, purchasing, and monetary transactions
Establishment of strategic partnerships and collaborations with other relevant entities both on and off campus
Facility planning and special event planning
Budgeting and marketing
Other departmental duties as assigned
Upon completion of training, the incumbent will have:
Membership in NIRSA
Working Knowledge of Innosoft Fusion operating system
Understanding of time accounting procedures
Banner user training
Required Skills
Ability to train, supervise and evaluate classified and student staff
Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills
Working knowledge of the foundations of collegiate intramural programming and summer camps management
Ability to effectively articulate and promote all Campus Recreation related policies and procedures to all stakeholders
Ability to perform and interpret assessments to provide appropriate changes to intramural and camp programs
Working knowledge of safe and effective intramural and camp operations
Ability to manage a point of sale including reconciling daily receipts, performing monetary transactions, securing daily deposits, and training others on their use
Minimum Required Experience
High School diploma and two (2) years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Three to five (3-5) years related work experience
Intramural and Summer Camp program management experience
Knowledge and understanding of intramural and camp industry trends
Familiarity with the Missoula area
Marketing skills and experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other relevant software packages
First aid and CPR certified
Driver’s License
