ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Corrections Institute (UCCI) is dedicated to supporting corrections agencies worldwide in their efforts to implement evidence-based practices in offender rehabilitation.  UCCI conducts applied research in corrections and translates research into practice through the development of new products and services, training and technical assistance, and program evaluation.

JOB OVERVIEW
UCCI is currently recruiting for a highly qualified individual to contribute to the organization's development and implementation activities at the Senior Research Associate level. The selected candidate will have opportunities to contribute to multiple projects including the development of structured group and individual interventions as well as training on evidence-based practices; designing evidence-based programs; delivering training and technical assistance; and comprehensive process evaluations.  The selected candidate will work closely with the Deputy Director, UCCI Coordinators, as well as other members of the UCCI team to independently prepare proposals, develop and deliver new products and services, lead multiple projects to provide training and technical assistance to a diverse population of correctional professionals, as well as provide supervision and mentorship to other members of the team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Coordinate research studies in a particular discipline. *Make independent contributions to projects and studies based on professional training and experience. *Perform statistical and graphical analysis of data, interpret data and assist in judging validity of data. *Independently decide how to solve issues/problems and rely upon their own resources to resolve the issue. *Contribute to the collective team effort. *May establish test controls, criteria and research standards. *May design of complex data processing systems to analyze research data. *Accomplish assigned results for project/studies, or for significant aspects of larger, complex assignments. *Serve as a seasoned level researcher and may act as a mentor to junior-level research staff. *May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). *Perform related duties based on departmental need. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
*Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Criminal Justice or related discipline *In-depth knowledge of evidence-based practices in corrections *Demonstrated implementation experience (minimum 5 -7 years) *Demonstrated project management experience *Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills *Demonstrated supervisory/mentorship experience *Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team *Ability to manage multiple demands/tasks *Ability to regularly travel *Willingness to work inside correctional facilities and directly with offender populations

*Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
