About This Role:
This position serves, on a day-to-day basis, as the primary contact for current as well as prospective students seeking guidance on how an individual may avail him/herself of some form of financial assistance in meeting the costs associated with an associate's, bachelor's, master's, doctorate, or professional degree program at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.. In this manner, the position supports the Office of Student Financial Assistance's mission of providing equitable access to available federal, state, and institutional forms of financial assistance. Great emphasis is, consequently, placed on this position to provide a first-rate customer service experience that is empathetic, timely, and accurate. In short, the position knowledge base consists of a professional familiarity with the regulatory/procedural constraints associated with various forms of financial assistance as well as an understanding of other educational support services offered by **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***..
In addition to the position's counseling/advising duties, the incumbent must be able to execute administrative, student system (KSIS) processes associated with the reviewing, documenting, awarding, authorizing, monitoring, and reconciling of financial aid offers made to students. Other system end-user proficiencies include the utilizing of system generated reports as well as the office's document imaging system.
Finally, since the position exercises a great amount of professional independence, it is imperative that the incumbent create and maintain documentation that is supportive, within regulation and/or established procedures, of adjustments to a student's eligibility for various forms of student financial assistance.

What You'll Need to Succeed:
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a high school diploma and three to five years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Experience in conducting advising/counseling sessions
Experience in giving presentations
2-3 years employment within an administrative office at a post-secondary institution of higher education
1-2 years employment within a financial aid office
2 or more years employment within an administrative position requiring the completion of complex forms and/or the interpretation of complex regulations and/or the utilization of calculations/formulas as a job duty and/or high level of customer service
Other Requirements:
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
Incumbent must be eligible to be registered as an administrative user of all federal student aid systems made available to aid administrators such as the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), Common Origination and Disbursement System (COD), FAA Access to CPS, etc.. Due to federal access standards to these systems, the incumbent must be personally in good standing in regard to any federal student loan repayment obligations and must not owe a repayment on a federal grant.
